How is it different from just emailing my vendor?

Email is unstructured. Critical details get buried in threads. Brieflo gives you a guided brief builder that ensures you cover every important detail, and vendors respond with structured proposals — not loose emails. Everything is tracked, timestamped, and stored.

Do my vendors need to create an account?

No. Vendors receive a magic link and can view your brief and submit proposals directly in their browser. Zero sign-up required. The link works on any device.

Is there a free plan?

Right now Brieflo is in beta and everything is free for everyone — every feature is unlocked, there are no project limits, and no card is required. Once the beta ends there will still be a free plan, and we will give plenty of notice before anything changes.

What categories of briefs does Brieflo support?

Design, Web Development, Photography, Video Production, Print, Translation, Events, Consulting, and Custom. Each category has its own tailored field set to guide you through the brief.

Can I save a brief as a template?

On the Pro plan and above, you can duplicate any past project to use as a template for future briefs. Template library access with 50+ pre-built templates is available on all plans.

Can I attach files to a brief?

Yes. Drag and drop reference images, brand guidelines, or any relevant files. Storage limits are lifted during the beta.

How long does the vendor link stay active?

By default, vendor links do not expire. You can set an expiration date when generating the link, or revoke it at any time from your project settings.

Can I invite multiple vendors to one project?

Yes. You can generate multiple invite links for the same project. Each vendor submits their own proposal independently, and you compare them side by side.

Can I control what the vendor sees?

Yes. When generating a link, you choose between 'view only' (vendor can read the brief but not respond) or 'respond' mode (vendor can view and submit a proposal).

Can a vendor edit their proposal after submitting?

Vendors can withdraw and resubmit a proposal before you accept or reject it. Once a proposal is accepted, it is locked as the agreed terms.

What happens when I accept a proposal?

The project status moves to "Awarded" and the accepted proposal becomes the reference agreement. On the Pro plan, you can add an e-signature to make it official.

Is the e-signature legally binding?

Brieflo e-signatures are SHA-256 hashed with the proposal ID and timestamp. While they provide strong evidence of agreement, consult local legal requirements for your jurisdiction. For most SMB vendor relationships, they provide sufficient proof of agreement.

What happens when I hit the 3-project limit?

There is no project limit during the beta — create as many as you need. When the beta ends and plan limits come into effect, you will still be able to view and manage everything you already created.

Can I switch between plans?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time. When upgrading, you get immediate access. When downgrading, you keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period.

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored in Supabase (powered by PostgreSQL) with row-level security enabled on every table. Files are stored in Supabase Storage with S3-backed infrastructure.

Is my brief data private?

Absolutely. Your brief data is only visible to workspace members and vendors you explicitly invite via a unique token link. Row-Level Security ensures no user can access another user's data.

What happens to data if I cancel?

Your data remains accessible for 30 days after cancellation. After that, it is permanently deleted per our data retention policy. You can export your data at any time before deletion.
